The International Direct Dialing (IDD) code is used when dialing from a landline in one country to another country. In most countries, the international prefix is 00. In countries under the North American Numbering Plan (including the US), the international prefix is 011. Countries in Asia often use 001. Some other American and African countries also have specific prefixes for international calls to a select group of neighbouring countries.
NOTE: From a mobile device, you may dial a "+" instead of the IDD.
NOTE: When dialing to another country from a US landline, dial 011 before the country code and the number.
