International students have an orientation course to introduce them to the curriculum and student life and to give a brief introduction to Chinese society and the culture of Hong Kong. This course is generally offered in the university a week before the commencement of the semester. Universities in Hong Kong have partnerships and collaborations with over 50 educational institutions in North America, Australia and Europe. Normally the exchange study program lasts for one or two semesters with agreements from with the home university regarding transfer of credits.
