What are the benefits of a Student jetPack?
Going abroad is an exciting and demanding time; Student jetPacks aims to remove the stress and unknown often associated with travelling by providing a pack allowing the traveller to be fully prepared and safely enjoy their time abroad. With a team with over 100 years travelling experience, Student jetPacks provides information and items normally only obtainable upon arrival into the country and often overlooked.
You don't have a jetPack for my destination, what shall I do?
We are continually adding new jetPacks for new countries and cities. If a jetPack is not yet available for your destination, you will be able find various country specific items, such as SIM cards and adaptors in our travel shop. Feel free to drop us a line if you want something specific, or to suggest a new destination.
What is a light stick?
Removing the need to use your mobile phone as a
light to read maps and directions upon arrival at
the coach station or airport, a light stick is an
easy-to-use, compact and disposable stick, that,
when snapped, will light for over 7 hours. Each
light stick has a shelf life of around 5 years,
giving you a piece of mind each time you travel,
and reducing your vulnerability to crime.
Which travel adaptor do
I need?
Check out the 'Quick Facts' section in 'Going
Abroad' for more information on country plug sockets
and voltage requirements. The plug
section also highlights the appropriate
country use. Please note that the adaptors provided
by Student jetPacks do not convert voltage. You
must never use these adaptors with an appliance
that is not designed to work with the local electricity
supply.
You will need a GSM mobile phone (cellphone)
that is:
1. compatible with the country frequencies, typically
dual/tri band.
2. not locked to a particular network.
Please refer to the SIM information provided online at Student jetPacks.
Is there an expiry time on the SIM cards?
Typically, you will need to make a chargeable call (i.e. send a SMS or make a voice call) within a 12 month period. For each SIM, please read the enclosed manual for further clarification.
Do I have to pay a deposit for the SIM/Oyster (travel) cards?
No. By purchasing your SIM or travel cards through Student jetPacks, you can obtain the various items without any stress, queuing or deposits. The travelcards allow you to complete your journey without the need to queue and buy tickets and therefore reducing your vulnerability to crime from onlookers.
Do you accept international orders?
Yes! All jetPacks and items in the travel shop can be posted anywhere throughout Europe, Asia and USA. To keep things simple, orders over £45 benefit from free postage and packaging. Orders under £45 are charged a flat rate of £5.25 to cover postage and packaging.
What methods of payment do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards are accepted as payment. For your added convenience, you can also pay with your PayPal account; just select your preferred choice at the checkout.
When will I receive my jetPack?
Your jetPack will be dispatched within 48 hours of placing your order. Postage times vary depending upon location, but will typically take 3-5 working days. All items are sent via 'International Signed-for'.
